Grab the kid, or grab a camera??

The title of this newspaper article was 'Life goes on. Relax and just go with it.' In it they ask the question, 'would you jump first to grab your child away from kissing a pig, or would you just relax and grab a camera?'

Well, Maria and I decided that I would grab a camera and Maria would grab the kid.Which would you do?

Here is my guess for some of our family members:

Kali - Kali would grab a camera until she realized that the kid was licking the pig.

Natali & Kevin - Natali would take 16 pictures until she realized the kid was licking the pig. Kevin would continue to take pictures after he noticed Conner's tongue all over the pig's snout.

Ambria - this is just a guess, but I think she would just keep shooting. Now what would Wade do?

Loren & Karen - not really sure on this, but we both think they would just grab a camera

Brent & Robyn - Robyn would definitely grab the kid, but Brent may wonder 'is this how the swine flu got started.'

AZ Trip

Out trip to Gilbert, AZ

Maria and I got a chance to drive down to Arizona to visit her brother Loren & Karen in Gilbert. The kids had a blast. From going to an indoor amusement park, the Phoenix Suns vs. Utah Jazz game, the Science Museum, or the Phoenix Zoo, it was a never ending week of fun.

Family Pinewood Derby

We had a blast this year with the Centennial Ward Family Pinewood Derby.

I had totally forgotten about the Pinewood Derby until the night before. So in less than 24 hours we put together what we could to race the next day. Maria and I cut and sanded it. The kids painted it. And then we taped on some 16 penny nails for weight and a cool Lego driver with 70's haircut.

We placed 5th out of 15 cars that night.

This pinewood derby had NO RULES so you had cars with remote control wheels, battery powered fans, and one guy had a CO2 cartridge on his.

Everybody lost to this guy. I just kept taping on more nails with each run so I could beat most people. But didn't work with that guy's car.

The kids had a great time this weekend raking up the leaves and jumping in them.

Not more than 2 hours later, this is what we found outside:

It took quite some time, but we finally did sand and stain or deck out back.

We decided to take some fall family pictures. Luckily, we have a friend in our ward that wanted to 'practice' taking pictures of us for free. We went down to Lagoon trail and found some beautiful places to take pictures. We thought they all turned out but here are a few of them.
